EXAM PREPARATION
There are two types of exam for photography
Type 1: This is called a PPE which stands for Pre Public Exam.
It is a mock exam to test your knowledge, skills and understanding about the subject of photography.
The PPE will help you to work out timings in preparation for the actual exam.
The PPE will give you an opportunity to feel what it is like to work under pressure and within a given time frame.
The PPE will help to familiarize you with the exam environment.
The PPE will give you the opportunity to learn about exam conduct.
Year 10 Drop Down Day - you will complete a final piece in 5 hours.

Year 10 PHOTOGRAPHY PPE - you will complete a final piece for your coursework project (5 hours).
Year 11 PHOTOGRAPHY PPE - you will complete a final piece for your coursework project (5 hours)
Year 12 PHOTOGRAPHY PPE - you will complete a final piece for your coursework project (5 hours)
Year 13 PHOTOGRAPHY PPE - you will complete a final piece for your coursework project (5 hours)

Type 2: This is called the EXTERNALLY SET ASSIGNMENT (ESA)
This is the official exam paper from the exam board AQA and is worth 40% of your final grade.
You will sit the exam in late April or early May.
It is designed to give you the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge, skills and understanding about Photography.
The exam paper will have a series of starting points set by the exam board.
You will choose one starting point to focus on.
You will have eight - ten weeks of preparation time to complete all the assignments.
It is a practical exam not a written exam.
Year 11 have ten hours spread over two days to make a final piece. It is worth 24 marks.
Year 13 have fifteen hours spread over three days to make a final piece. It is worth 24 marks.
Exam invigilators will be in the room with you to ensure exam conduct is followed.
