CHARTERS SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHY DEPARTMENT
PHOTOSHOOT PLANNING SHEETS
What to include on the A2 sheets when presenting your photoshoots
1. A Title - Use your topic/theme/question as the title. Link the font style and colours to the topic.
2. A contact sheet - use Photoshop to create the contact sheet (File - Automate - Contact sheet). Annotate the contact sheet - use a code either colours or shapes to show best photos, worst photos, unexpected photos.
3. Photo shoot diagram - show the camera position, the backgrounds, the lighting source and direction, distances in the set up, the main subject being photographed. Draw in pencil and then go over in black pen. Look online at how other people have created these diagrams.
4. Before, During and After Questions - everyone should complete the basic questions - if you are aiming for a higher level then try the challenging questions as well. You can hand write the answers using a black pen or type up the answers and then stick the printed pages down on to the A2 sheet. Spelling and grammar are important.
5. Next steps - explain what you plan to do as a result of this photoshoot - editing, taking more photoshoots, etc.
6. Camera Settings - include the shutter speed, aperture and ISO setting for this photoshoot.
An example might be ....
Camera Make: Nikon
Camera model: D7200
F-Stop (aperture): f5.6
Exposure time (shutter speed): 1/250sec
ISO speed: ISO 400
