Roland Barthes Analysis QuestionsRoland Gérard Barthes was a French literary theorist, philosopher, linguist, critic, and semiotician. Barthes' ideas explored a diverse range of fields and he influenced the development of schools of theory including structuralism, semiotics, social theory, design theory, anthropology and post-structuralism.

Is there any adventure or is it mundane to you? Why? What could you/would you change about the photograph to add the adventure? Explain. What do you see in the photograph? What do you feel when looking at the photograph? What do you notice about the photograph? What do you observe about the photograph? What do you think about the photograph? Would you want to avoid the location, visit the location or live in the location of the photograph? Why? Look away from the photograph. What details do you recall about the content? Is the photograph worthy of a second glance? Why? Is the photograph deliberate or accidental? Why? Do you see the obvious or the detail in the photograph? Why? What do you bring to the photograph or add to the photograph based on your experiences of life and culture? |
